Women’s Health Activities Tasmania offers free or low cost weekly activities and regular group meetings. We also have monthly groups and therapists.

Our support advisers offer short-term advice over the phone, online or in person at our Hobart centre. You can refer yourself to counseling by calling us. You do not need a mental health plan to see our counselors. As with all our work, we have a strengths-based and solution-oriented approach to consulting.

Brilliant Women in Digital Health is a network created by Telstra Health. Now in its second year, the 2022 Brilliant Women in Digital Health Awards attracted almost 100 nominations recognizing women working in various fields in the health and aged care sector. This initiative celebrates their achievements and contribution to health and digital technology across Australia and the world.
Attracting high income from women in medical research, institutions, healthcare image and care for the elderly and in the private, public and non-profit sectors is a challenging task for our judges.
The 25 award recipients appearing in this report were chosen by judges based on the broad criteria as follows:
Naccho Aboriginal Health #smoking
The award is an initiative of the Brilliant Connected Women in Digital Health Network, which has more than 1,200 members united by an interest in digital health. The network provides a community to share ideas, build relationships, spark opportunities and celebrate success. The lead architects designed an eco-friendly women’s clinic, specifying a range of GECA Cradle to Cradle rugs approved by Jose Shaw.
Eternal Women’s Health in Hobart offers multidisciplinary healthcare services for women at all stages of life and was recently named the winner of the 2020 Contract Design Award.
Located not far from the Royal Hobart Hospital, the clinic offers obstetrics and gynecology services as well as acupuncture, psychology, nutrition, midwifery, group health classes and education.
“We were tasked with a cosmetic design that reflected the overall philosophy of the practice, where every area of the facility felt homey, warm, inviting and indicative of ‘non-clinical’,” said Core Creative Architects.
Community Healthcare System Hospitals Earn Accolades For Infant Maternal Care
In an effort to move away from the unhygienic furniture associated with a doctor’s office, while embracing environmentally sustainable materials, the studio wrapped the interior of Eternal Women’s Health in Tasmanian wood.
Dark blue low VOC paint and an “ambient and warm” lighting system were chosen to complement the building’s high ceilings and large windows.
For the floor, Core Creative Architects chose Veil-colored Undertone tiles from Shaw Contract’s vertical collection.
The vertical carpet tiles are cradle-to-cradle certified silver and use premium Eco Solution Q fibers. All tiles have an EcoWorx underlay, which has achieved the highest level of GECA certification and a Green Star ‘Level A’ product rating by the Green Building Council of Australia.

The team also worked with graphic designer Chris Price to incorporate the firm’s branding throughout the practice, including bespoke Tasmanian oak signs.
Additional custom decorative elements – the folding brass handles, the hangers and two brass and Tasmanian oak magazine holders in the waiting area – were created by Christopher Clinton Architects.
In the waiting area, thoroughly screened from the reception and entry area with views of Kunanyi / Mt Wellington, lounge corners flank the central communal table, while a separate children’s play socket has been designed.
When designing the clinic, Core Creative Architects also considered privacy, security and ease of access, especially in the Studio Eternal classrooms.

“Eternal studios must be able to work after closing time, have their own elevator entrance, as well as access to restrooms,” explained the studio.
Large sliding doors are designed to welcome patients into the waiting area during the day, while wide corridors and curved corners visually facilitate patients in wheelchairs.
